Next Chapter

Hello! Anyone who knows me well knows that I love to talk and write. My best friends from high school and I have an ongoing thread where we write back and forth from our different schools, updating each other on our lives. They, along with my family members encouraged me to start a blog, but I never really thought about it until recently. My mom gave me the best gift I have ever received for my high school graduation. She gave me a giant book of letters- letters she had secretly written me every couple of months from the day I was born until the day I graduated. She carefully documented my entire life, and because of this, I discovered new things about myself and remembered memories I would have forgotten otherwise. Now, a little over a year later, I finished the book. I dragged it out as long as possible because I didn't want it to end. I hate feeling like my childhood is over- I don't want to grow up yet. I decided to make this blog as a way to start Part 2 of my book. This time, written by me. I have been blessed with some incredible opportunities this upcoming year. I am spending winter break in Sierra Leone Africa, studying abroad in the Dominican Republic this spring, and doing research in Morocco, Turkey, and Sri Lanka this summer. It will be an adventure and I don't want to miss any detail. I've decided to stop being nostalgic for the past and start feeing excited for the future. The book isn't over, it's just my turn to write the next chapter.
